I popped into my GW today and found an Addy on top of the Barbie pile. She's a mess...cut ratty hair, make-up on eyes and lids, color marker graffiti on torso. Of course I couldn't leave her there to an unknown fate so I purchased her for $3.99 and took her home. I'm trying the downy dunk and a hair restyle. I'll let you know if it turns out or she has to go to hospital.

It certainly can't hurt to try. Use spray and wash on the marker on the body and then machine wash it. Cross your fingers that it's not sharpie, if it's regular kid's marker, it should wash out. For the makeup, just be careful not to use anything harsh and wipe slowly and carefully with a baby wipe (my preferance) or moist soft cloth.

If she's an older doll and you go the hospital route , send her in for a "new torso and limbs - $38". They will normally replace EVERYTHING or send you a new doll on thier dime because the new body won't match the old head.

Good luck regardless!

Let me know if there is any way I can help. I think AsianAG can help you on the eyes. I know I can help with washing the body instructions.
Congrats on Addy!

What a great price! I guessing she didn't come with an outfit? Still a wonderful find though!

Thank you for all the much needed advise!

The Addy came with a homemade outfit (no shoes/socks) that is really cute. I also purchased an PM Addy with meet outfit for $20 that needs work as their cat used her for a litter box. One of her eyes doesn't close all the way, but I don't mind as my girls don't need to be perfect to love.

I'm not certain where to purchase the stuffing and what to look for. Can anyone help me?

You can get stuffing at any place that carries craft supplies. Just look for Fiberfill, or ask a clerk, they will know what you are talking about. I just buy it at walmart.
